2007-08 - UD Artifacts Basketball - Bust #0002

A couple quick items: I purchased a few packs and documented them before I started the blog, so I have a bit of a queue of posts before I get to new busts. I’m still working out the kinks of the camera set up and lighting and what not, so the system isn’t perfect just yet. Improvements are showing.
Here’s my second pack I busted: 2007-08 Upper Deck Artifacts Basketball. I really think this line is sharp. I forgot to snap a pic of the unopened pack, so you’ll have to see the side-view first. I take this picture first, because it’s how I open packs. I rip the top and immediately peer inside for the tell-tale thick cards, sometimes meaning a memorabilia card is found within. Just a funny quirk of mine:
The contents:
92 - Andrea Bargnani: Dude is so lucky he didn’t go to my high school with that name. What kind of country lets dads name their sons Andrea?!
27 - Chauncey Billups: Detroit Piston with ice running through his veins. I hate him with the fury of a thousand burning suns.
100 - Antawn Jamison: I am completely lukewarm on Jamison. Seems like a generally likeable guy.
107 - Corey Brewer (084/100): Oooooh, this was a nice pull. The pack guarantees one numbered, autograph or memorabilia card per pack (on average) but this was a very nice card. I think Brewer has star potential, even if he played for the hated Florida Gators. It’s a sharp card to boot. I don’t know what this card books at, but when I checked eBay, this auction came up numbered as 22/25. Am I to assume this is a fake? I’m not new to eBay but I am new to buying/selling single cards there. Is this a scam? The seller seems to have a pretty solid feedback rating. Or are there more than one series of numbered cards? That certainly wouldn’t make sense. If you can shed any light on the situation, I’d be much obliged.
To recap:
Pack: 2007-08 UD Artifiacts Basketball (Hobby)
Price: don’t remember
92 - Andrea Bargnani
27 - Chauncey Billups
100 - Antawn Jamison
107 - Corey Brewer (084/100)
Verdict: The Brewer card makes it worth the price of admission, even if I don’t remember what I paid to get in.

Sometimes companies will make different parallel variations of the same card. Yours (numbered to 100)seems to be a gold parallel, based on the foil trim around the picture. The eBay seller’s card looks to be a blue foil parallel, numbered to 25.
I assume basketball cards work the same way as baseball cards, since they are made by the same companies mostly.

@Steve - Ahhh, that makes perfect sense. Thanks for pointing that out.

I like the way Artifacts looks this year and that’s a really nice looking rookie card. I know what you mean about the Hated Gators, I’m a Georgia fan coming to terms with rooting for Al Horford on the Hawks.

@dayf - I also really like the way the 2007 NBA Artifacts look. Unlike the 2007 NFL Artifacts, which I don’t really care for.
The conflicted state of a pro and college team is never easy to deal with. Horford looks like he’s going to be good, though, so that should make it a little easier.
